Beth Stewart, PhD

I think biotechnology generates opportunities to make a difference in lives. After graduating with a B.S. from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in Genetics from Stanford University, I worked on the Human Genome Project at Stanford’s Human Genome Center. It was during my time there that I realized life-altering science can only reach its full potential if it can be clearly communicated to all—not just fellow scientists. Funding agencies, patients, and clients all need to feel how your science can change lives--at that point, possibilities can become realities. After a stint at Incyte Pharmaceuticals, I moved to the Seattle, Washington area where I have been providing writing and editing support for educational and research organizations, as well as biotech companies. I received a certificate in grant writing from Western Washington University in 2021.
